I was very honoured to be asked to photograph this family, because that day they were celebrating their littlest one's first birthday. One of the best things about being a photographer is to share moments with people. Happy and memorable times. They were actually the winners of my recent competition, which I ran on Facebook, twitter and on here. They won a free photo shoot (worth £50), and had £50 to spend on products. I am so pleased they won, and I got to meet them on such a special day. If you want to be in line to enter any future competitions, and be on my VIP list to hear about any special offers and news, please sign up via my contact page here. I promise not to bombard you with emails - I only send them out occasionally! One thing I love to do, is focus on the little things. The things that pass by so quickly. Capturing them now is important, as they change so quickly. When this little one grabbed onto the cot, and peeped over the edge, it got my heart beating a little faster. My girls have grown out of their cot, so I recognise how special these times are. The little fingers do not stay chubby forever, and the little innocent peeking over the top of a cot disappears in a blink of an eye. Oh, get me, I am all sentimental today!!! Big sister was on hand to provide the birthday girl lots of enthusiastic hugs. It was lovely to see their connection and tenderness together. Another special moment came when I asked the eldest which book is her current favourite. "MOG of course!!", came her happy reply. She grabbed it, and started talking me through the story, whilst her little sister zoomed around with her walker. I have already shared the below image on my Facebook page, but it literally took my breath away when I was sat editing late at night. The father and daughter bond. Just special. The grown ups donned their wellies, and we set out to venture by the (slightly muddy) river in Thames Ditton. Thanks for reading. If you would like a photo shoot, please get in touch here, to contact me.
