Looking back on 2015

As I reflect on 2015, I have been thinking about my work, and my journey with photography, and thinking what inspires me day to day. I must say it is a complete joy to take photographs of families, children, and babies.  I am really privileged to be invited by families to document and capture their life.

Many of my photo shoots have been local to me, in-and-around Teddington, but I have also been lucky enough to travel to lots of beautiful homes and scenic spots across London and Surrey.

Art and photography are very personal, subjective things.  I put a lot of time, love, and care into making sure all your photos are beautiful.  I am capturing your moments, to tell a story about you and your life.  To create photographs for you to treasure forever.  Maybe this tells a story about me too, about my creativity, my artistic approach, and perhaps a little insight into my soul.

This is why I do what I do.

It is always touching to hear kind words from my clients.  I love knowing that my photos are special to you, and have become something you treasure.  Knowing that I have managed to capture the emotions you were feeling at the time, and that you will always remember them when you look at your photos, is so rewarding.

This is why I do what I do.

I have had the pleasure of meeting so many new families this year, and taking their photos.  It is also a delight to have many returning families, who have come back to me again.  More lives I have been able to freeze in time.  More families I am able to help preserve memories for, so you can share your precious moments with friends, families and loved ones (near or far).

This is why I do what I do.

There is a quote that resonates with me:
"You will never have this day with your children again - tomorrow they will be a little bit older than they are today.  Today is a gift.  Breathe and notice.  Smell and hold them; study their faces and little feet and pay attention.  Relish the charms of the present.   Enjoy today.  It will be over before you know it".   Jen Hatmaker.

This is why I do what I do.

Thanks to each of you for a wonderful 2015.  I wish you all a very Happy New Year.  A huge thank you for supporting me, it really means the world to me.
