So, I had great ideas for this blog, and have been planning it for weeks. I was going to take some lovely pictures, to showcase my new photo book product. So, I was very excited when the postman delivered them, all wrapped carefully from their journey. Wonderful. But I have two four year olds. Intent on causing havoc wherever they are. Their nursery teachers kindly say they are "live wires", and "full of energy". I am no fool. I know that really means that they can, at times, be rather a handful. Wilful bordering on mischievous, and occasionally down right naughty. After all, I live with them and experience it on a daily basis! So, should I be at all surprised that, IF I leave out my lovely new product within arms reach of two four-year-olds, something MAY well happen? Perhaps I am a fool after all. For Christmas, my girls were lucky, and got some pop beads, which are small little plastic beads that pop together to form a necklace. I rather like them, as they can keep little hands busy for at least 20 minutes before boredom kicks in, or an argument starts. Any other parent knows that anything that can keep children entertained is a wonderful thing. They come with little stickers to place on the larger beads. Or should I say, they come with little stickers to place on Mummy's shiny new presentation box, for her lovely new photo books. I was informed of the boxes embellishment by twin number one. Who is currently going through a rather interesting phase of telling on her sister. All the time. With great glee and gusto, generally. The naughty (sorry, 'full of energy') twin two, tells me that she was "making the box look much nicer". Both agreed, that the stickers did indeed make it much much MUUUCH better. The good news is, that by testing out my new product in such a way, I can indeed notify you all that stickers peel off said presentation box with ease, leaving no marks behind at all. Phew. I have been searching for a good quality photo book for months. I have spent hours and hours talking to suppliers, visiting them, and having samples delivered. There are a handful of top quality professional photography suppliers that make exceedingly amazing bespoke albums or books. They come however, quite rightly, with an exceptionally hefty price tag. I was therefore searching for something that was still of exceptional quality, but would be affordable too. The styles for photo books have been changing and evolving over the past few years. Many of us have used the high street or well known websites to print off and produce our photo books in the past. Which have been in the style of a coffee book, with magazine type pages. The professional suppliers are now producing these new, high quality books, with lay-flat pages and flush-mounts. They feel and look stunning. So, I will soon be adding these gorgeous photo books to my product list. I hope you agree that they will be a fantastic addition, and make a wonderful keepsake. In the meantime, check out the wobbly chin on a four year old, who thought she was making a boring black box look rather pretty... A wobbly chin and big tear filled eyes, and a tiny trembling voice saying "sorry" were enough for me to give her a great BIG hug. All is forgiven.
What is the worst thing your little ones have done when you back is turned? Let me know. I am sure it is far worse than some stickers on a box! Thanks for reading. Please let me know your funny stories, and if you are looking for a photographer please get in touch here, to contact me. Tamsin x
